As a field photo and video journalist for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Tana River County, Kenya, I had the opportunity to contribute to peace development by capturing and editing video and photo elements that were used to produce compelling news stories.
In this role, I used the latest equipment and software to ensure that the final product met the highest standards of quality. My technical expertise in using software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and After Effects allowed me to apply professional editing standards and techniques, which were critical to the success of the projects I worked on.
In addition to my technical skills, I was also responsible for maintaining camera equipment to ensure that it was always in good working condition. This included recharging batteries, storing the equipment safely, and keeping everything clean. By taking care of the equipment, I was able to avoid costly equipment failures that could have disrupted our work and impacted our ability to tell important stories.
One of the most exciting aspects of my role as a field photo and video journalist was creating short slideshow reports using the photos and videos that I had captured.
